News Update :

MIGRAINE IS GOOD FOR THE MEMORY

Friday, April 29, 2011

People with migrain suffer less memory loss over time than the unafflicted. Researchers from John Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health found that while migraineurs scored lower on memory test at the start of their study, they showed 17 % less cognitive decline than non-migraineurs 12 years later.

“migrain medications such as ibuprofen, which might have a protective effect on memory, might be partially responsible’” says study author Dr. Amanda Kalaydjian of the surprise findings. “but it seems more likely that there may be an underlying biological mechanism, such as changes in blood vessels or differences in brain activity.”
