French traditional dishes - what is behind the Food. refer to the style of food that comes from France. This kind of food usually has been developed after centuries due to the social changes. The traditional French dishes have great contribution to the development of today’s Western cuisine in all over the world, and the criteria of them have been used widely in numerous Western culinary education and cookery school boards. The traditional French dishes usually have their own variations based on the seasons. Salads and fruits are popular in summer since they are refreshing; mushrooms are widely found in French at the end of summer; and during September to February, any food from hunting is sought.

In middle ages, aristocracy is often served with banquets. Three courses usually belong to one meal. The first one is the introductory course which is called as hors d’œuvre or entrée in French, and usually served soup as the meal. Another meal for the introductory course is basil salmon terrine, bisque, fole gras, along with Veloute de mousseron. The plat principal or main course is usually consisted of some traditional French dishes like pot au feu or classique dish, baguette, and pomme frittes. There is also fromage or cheese course. Patisserie and dessert is also popular to be used, and it is usually consisted of some popular French dishes like Mousse au chocolat, crème brulee, or mille-feuille.
The dishes of French are very popular in the world due to its deliciousness and the luxury of it. French wines are usually also accompanied some traditional French dishes in many restaurants.
